Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre

Continuing on with the recent string of commercial work, we’ve been busy working with Bird Construction of Bedford, NS, down in Bridgewater, NS on the roof framing for a multi-purpose facility (pool, NHL-sized hockey rink, etc.) called the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.

These photos show our progress (as of last week) on the roof over the 250′ long Galleria (i.e., main entry hall).  The roof is composed of Douglas Fir glulam timber beams (supplied by Goodfellow) connected to the structural steel framing (by Marid Industries of Windsor Junction, NS), with 3×6, Douglas Fir timber decking (also by Goodfellow) over the glulam and steel.

Since these photos were taken, we have started laying 3×6 decking over the (roughly) 11,000 sq.ft. pool roof – we hope to be wrapped up before the end of January.  All hands on deck…!

If the weather stays nice, hopefully we’ll get some more progress photos later this week – stay tuned.
