TFG Regional Gathering – Details

Timber Framers Guild Regional Gathering – Eastern Canada
Friday, January 30, 2015 (8:30am to 4:00pm)
NSCC Kingstec, Kentville, NS

We’re just two days away from the Regional Gathering of Timber Framers.  We are all overwhelmed with the interest in this event – we’re expecting almost 100 people for the day!  This last blog post is to give some added information on who, what, when and where.

The event will be held at NSCC Kingstec, 236 Belcher St, Kentville, NS B4N 0A6  Please park in the main parking lot, immediately in front of the main entrance.  Upon arrival, please go directly to the security desk, and they will direct you up to our registration desk (outside room 2101/2102).

All attendees are required to provide their own substantial footwear – no open toed shoes permitted.

Friday’s schedule is as follows (please note that because of the high number of attendees, we may change the timing of things – we may need to divide the group up and do two or more presentations at once).  Note that we’ll be sure to update everyone when we do the Introduction, first thing on Friday.

For those of you looking for accommodations, we’re recommending that folks stay at the Old Orchard Inn (www.oldorchardinn.com) – it is fairly close to the school, is very clean and offers the best bang for the buck.  I checked with them last week, and Thursday night is wide open for rooms, but apparently, Friday night is nearly full.

After the day winds down, we’ll be gathering again for supper upstairs at Paddy’s Pub in Wolfville – 460 Main Street, Wolfville. Everyone is welcome to join us there as well.

We’re all looking forward to getting together to share our interest in the craft and science of timber framing.  Thank you all for your continued interest.  See you Friday!

Sincerely,

Mark Gillis, P.Eng.
